Beauty Product Photography & Art Direction for E-commerce

Over a three-year partnership, Daryna served as Creative Director and Producer for Karla Cosmetics, developing product photography and swatch imagery for eyeshadows and highlighters across product detail pages and related marketing materials.

Given full creative freedom at the beginning of the project, she developed a visual language that was later adapted across multiple product categories. Her direction strengthened the brand’s desirability, supported product presentation and conversion goals, and established consistency between photography and video.

TECHNICAL PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY FOR DUOCHROME PIGMENTS:

The project required a highly technical approach to capturing duochrome and multichrome pigments, which shift color depending on the angle of light.

Each image needed to communicate the full range of shades and color transitions customers could expect. Daryna developed a complex lighting setup to reveal these shifts while maintaining consistency across the product collection.

SIGNATURE VISUAL TECHNIQUE:

One standout technique involved casting a rainbow across the product in water. The effect was created by directing light through a sheet of diffraction grating, producing a prismatic spectrum that became a signature look for the brand.
