The Getty Museum Shop licenses works from the J. Paul Getty Museum's permanent collection and commissions designers to interpret them. The tee from the Getty Museum Collection, designed by Pirate, carries sixteen sculpted heads printed across natural cotton. The tote carries A Hare in the Forest, which Hans Hoffmann painted around 1585 and assembled out of separate nature studies, and it folds down into its own pouch.

Given the run of the store, Daryna chose the things she'd actually reach for, what would still be in her hands a month later.

The shop commissioned two deliverables and gave her full creative freedom over execution. She conceived, styled, shot and directed both in her home studio, and appears in them.

She shot them where they would actually live. The tee went into her wardrobe on her own terms, a gold chain at the neck and a gold buckle belt at the waist, tucked in one frame and loose in the next, styled the way she dresses rather than the way a graphic tee usually gets worn. The tote over the shoulder at full size.

The sketchbook and pencils open on her lap in the same room where she plans her own shoots. Objects doing their ordinary jobs, in her space, making the day a little better looking while they do it.

“Small elements like these make my everyday special and remind me to wonder and stay in a dreamer state. ”
— Daryna Barykina
